About LIT Lessons
Life: My husband and I are avid National Park enthusiasts and are proud to have visited over 40! When I am not hiking our beautiful parks, I can be found on the yoga mat, knitting sweaters and scarves, or reading a book.
Inquiry: I am naturally curious, and while that curiosity served me well in school – I have earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania – the same trait causes me to never stop asking questions about the world around me.
Teaching: Education animates my life. As an undergraduate English major, I discovered the power of books. I was inspired to become an English and History teacher to share that power with young people and to help them transform their lives through literature. In that time, the transformations I have seen in students paralleled my own growth as an educator and leader. My evolution as a practitioner now motivates me to spread a message about the transformative power of books. In this role, I develop curriculum for secondary English and mentor teachers, building their capacity to lead classrooms.
