It’s time for the annual LIT Lessons Novel Study Giveaway!
Every year in a school is unique. Each is memorable in its own way, but these last few years have been particularly powerful for the challenges we have endured, changes we have seen, and the obstacles we have and are still overcoming. Our memories of this period will shape how we think about and approach school this year and many years to come. Why? Why is it important to remember? What memories are shared and what memories would we prefer to forget? And who or what should shape what we remember? These are questions with answers unique to each person, but they are important ones to ask because the responses will foreshadow where we go from here.
These thoughtful questions can be a powerful way to start the year as society grapples with the memories of the past (long-ago and recent) and whether or not certain stories still have a place in the classroom. The novel The Giver by Lois Lowry and our accompanying The Giver Novel Study are the perfect starting point for teachers wanting to explore these ideas.
To help start the discussion in your classroom, we are hosting the annual LIT Lessons Teacher Giveaway.
One grand prize winner will receive one (1) The Giver Novel Study and a Class Set of The Giver Books for Your Students (≤30 book copies). *Approximate retail value (ARV) : $350.*
